November Update

Welcome to my blog! I am just learning this blog stuff, so bear with me. If this proves useful, hopefully both you students and parents can receive important information and otherwise fun news here on this blog!

Hope everyone had a safe Halloween night, and is enjoying their bounty of sweets! There were so many great costumes at school Tuesday, everyone seemed to have a great time with the school activities. We had a last minute booking of a performance group that came in Tuesday morning. They performed a mini opera. It was really something for the students to have an actual opera performance in their own school.

It is November already, which means that term 1 report cards will soon be getting written up to go home. I know as a parent, this is a bit of a nerve racking time, maybe for the students too. If you ever have concerns please feel free to visit or call. You do not have to wait for a scheduled interview! Both the Gr. 5s and the Gr. 6s have begun a new math unit on multiples and factors (number operations) in math, and in LA, have their first book report assigned. If you have not seen the handout that is the book report assignment, I can email you an attachment, just drop a note at my email address. Both grades have completed their first science unit, and test have been marked and sent home for review. The Social units are longer, and both groups are part way through their first unit.

As we get busy with Report Cards, and then Christmas, these next weeks will just seem to fly by. See you all at interviews!
